Designing seamless experiences that elevate brands and engage users

Grants distribution often faced challenges throughout its process. Some of these examples include slippage, targetability, transparency, and efficiency. NineTwelve Indiana collaborated with Unbox to ensure these issues do not occur in this pilot project, which aims to distribute $1,000,000 grants in Indiana 5G Ecosystem.Grant recipients need to submit their proposals to receive their grants. We adapt this pattern into our design flow, meaning my design direction is based on Mental Model Alignment. A principle states that digital experiences should mirror real-world processes to match users’ expectations. If people are used to submitting proposals in a certain way in the real world, the digital experience should replicate that structure to feel intuitive and familiar.

My approach centred on user empathy, ensuring that clinic staff could operate the app under busy, real-world conditions. I prioritised:  Large, accessible buttons for quick actions (e.g. “Start Consultation”, “Rejoin Queue”) to reduce cognitive load and speed up workflows.  A stage-based layout, aligning each section (Doctors, Upcoming Queues, Missed Queues, and Checkout) with the natural flow of the patient journey, from waiting to consultation to billing.  Visual hierarchy and colour coding to allow instant recognition of patient status and next steps, minimising clicks and decision fatigue.  This clear and structured design helps staff view and manage high volumes of patient data at a glance while supporting real-time updates and queue transitions seamlessly.

Litterbot is an interactive AI chatbot integrated into the Unbox XYZ ecosystem, designed to educate and engage users around waste reduction. Using a custom Large Language Model (LLM) focused on environmental impact and litter data, the bot delivers direct, data-informed answers about which companies and behaviours are contributing to litter issues — all through a beautifully animated, conversational interface.  As the Product Designer, I collaborated closely with AI engineers and branding teams to:  Design a conversational UI that feels human, surprising, and informative.  Craft a bold homepage experience, filled with kinetic visuals and smooth transitions to grab attention and invite deeper exploration.  Ensure data transparency and guide users towards actionable insights through the chat flow.  💡 Highlights: Featured for its "incredibly impressive front page" and smooth user experience (source).  Empowers users with real-time insights on corporate accountability in waste management.  Praised for direct, no-nonsense answers from the AI — helping spark real conversations around sustainability.
